| Abstract |
In the Southern Bight of the North Sea samples were taken with distances of 2,5, 25 and 250 m or 10, 100 and 1000m from one another. Analysis were made on salinity, nutrients and chlorophyll a. Attempts have been made to find the distance between the sampling points above which there is on an average hardly any difference in concentration of a certain variable. For that purpose a special sampling program was established and an analysis of variance was made. It was found that the assumed model of variance components isn't usable under the circumstances. A correlation between variance and length scale has not been found. Therefore it isn't allowed to predict the necessary sampling density. |
