Plankton samples, taken during running programs of the Bioloski Institut of Dubrovnik over a period of years, were examined. Hydromedusae uncommon in this area, or whose systematics should be discussed, were separated. Ten species found in different places in the Adriatic Sea are here discussed. Euphysora annulata is newly recorded for the Atlanto-Mediterranean waters. Krampella dubia, Phialidium discoidum, Phialidium pentata, Eucheilota paradoxica, Haliscera bigelowi and Aglantha elata are new to the Mediterranean Sea. Some are common in the Atlantic Sea but are only now reported from the Mediterranean. Bougainvillia ramosa and Arctapodema australis raise systematic discussion. They are common in the Adriatic Sea but have been described under different names. Phialella quadrata and Krampella dubia are recorded for the second time in the Mediterranean. It is apparent that even a relatively well known part of the sea such as the Adriatic presents many unsolved and even unrecognized problems in the taxonomy and ecology of hydromedusae.
